Hotel des Invalides in Paris

The construction of the Hotel des Invalides was ordered by Louis XIV to accommodate mutilated of the armies. Today, it still accommodate mutilated and retired from the armies.

The buildings also house the Musée de l'Armée and the Musée des Plans-Reliefs.

The soldiers'church which is now a cathedral stands in the heart of the Hotel des Invalides. It was dedicated to Saint-Louis. The golden dome of the cathedral is one of the remarkable points of Paris. In its crypt rest the ashes of Napoleon I.
