Nice location and enjoy the anbience of the small hotel. Great location for shopping, arts, metro .... and sadly, business meetings.

Upon arrival late at night, we were told our rooms were around the corner in the \'sister\' hotel, Hotel Lenox, 9 R. de Université. This hotel was not as good quality as the D\'Aquin appeared to be. The rooms were small but recently redecorated and were fine. The last morning, we went to the Sunday market to experience shopping for our fresh breakfast items. While preparing to eat the items we bought in a discreet corner of a lounge in the hotel that was not being used, we were berated by the manager who came storming into the area, slammed open the drapes and scolded us for bringing in food. Saying we should have eaten the hotel\'s buffet breakfast down in the lower level.
Before leaving the hotel, I went into his office and told him I was angry at how he treated us, that the hotel was our home away from home and therefore we should be able to use the public areas, discreetly of course, to gather with our family and enjoy it however we wish. The rooms were certainly too tiny to be able to do this in there. The manager said there was a law in France that one could not bring food into a hotel from outside. I told him I had never heard of that. We have done this before in other hotels.
But whatever, the manager should have been more reasonable in explaining this to us in a dignified manner rather than yelling at us and slamming in and out of the room.
