The hotel Athenee combines elegance and luxury, intimacy and exuberance in the heart of Paris and one of the most sought after part of the City of Lights: The Opera district.

The famous designer Jacques Garcia inspired himself with the authentic spirit that reigns in the area and signed a charming and exceptional boutique hotel based on four of the most renowned lyric tragedies of the opera.

The hotel is a perfect reflection of what operas inspires : romanticism, lyricism, passion, hope but also nostalgia and fate. Faust, Aida, the Traviata and Don Giovanni inspired the designer and he succeeded in expressing the atmosphere of these masterpieces in his latest creation, the Hotel Athenee.

When you enter the hotel Athenee, it looks like a small opera. Scarlet colors, fringed velvet chairs and sofa, columns, pictures and large mirrors on both sides, sumptuous materials, heavy fabrics, walls and floor in marble,…

 In the back side of this scene, you can discover the Red Bar with its cosy lounge and authentic autographed photos of famous opera singers. Relaxing in precious velvet couches with fine-fabric cushions, you can enjoy a romantic drink or share it with friends or business partners up to late in the night.

In the morning, the lounge becomes the place where you can take a delicious breakfast except if you prefer enjoy it in your room.

The hotel also offers a vaulted stone smoking room softened by lounge music and equipped with a flat screen TV, internet connection, comfortable chairs and low tables, still in the atmosphere of an opera.

The hotel opened its doors on Friday the 10th of September, 2010.

Rooms

Picture yourself in the real heart of Aida's story, torn out between her father authority and her love for Radames. Or even feel the romantic ambiance of the Traviata. Imagine being one of the numerous Don Giovanni's conquests... all this in the differently themed rooms of the Hotel Athenee. And these are only a few examples of what you will experience in one of our outstanding rooms.

Each room’s furniture is custom designed. The tassels are hand-woven and hand-made only for this hotel. No two rooms are the same which is amazing.

All 20 rooms are equipped with reversible individual air-conditioning, flat screen TV with LED technology and international channels, high standard bedding, integrated mini-bar and private safe, ward-robe and free internet access (Wifi and cable connection).

Bathrooms are entirely tiles with Bisazza mosaic products. Shower tray and washbasin are cut in one bloc of marble where a particular sanding gives an appearance of leather. Embeded flat TV screen at the bathtub foot foresee relaxing time.

5 room categories with varied themes always based on the 4 operas :

Classic room : Very quiet on the courtyard, double room for 1 or 2 persons, beautiful bathroom with shower and wc.

Superior shower room : Luxury double room overlooking Rue Caumartin for 1 or 2 persons. Luxury and romantic decoration. Bathroom with shower and wc.

Superior shower bath : Double room with king size bed or 2 twin beds in a quiet atmosphere on the courtyard.  Very beautiful bathroom with bathtub and wc.

Cosy room : Standing at the 5th floor of the hotel overlooking Paris roofs, beautiful atticed romantic room with materials from Maison Pierre Frey. Bathroom with shower and wc.

Deluxe room : Expace deluse with king size bed, beautiful bathroom and flat screen Tv at the foot of the bathroom.

Transportation

The offers an exceptional location in the quarter of the Opera Garnier. With lots of restaurants, wine bars and theatres in the surrounding, you are also at a walking distance from luxury and pret-a-porter boutiques, cinemas of the Boulevard Des Italiens, the place Vendome, the Madeleine place with Fauchon and Hédiard delicatessens, department stores Le Printemps and Galeries Lafayette.

Metro station "Havre Caumartin" 300 metres (lines 3 and 9) or "Madeleine" 400 metres (lines 8, 12 and 14)

Train RER line A station "Auber" 250 metres. Direct to the Champs Elysees, La Defense business district and Disneyland .

Bus lines 21-27-29 (Auber), 68 (Opera or Scribe), 81 (Auber RER or Opera), 95 (Auber)

Public indoor parking "Edouard VII" located 15 Rue Edouard VII with entry facing the hotel Athenee.

Access from Roissy CDG airport : Taxi or airport shuttle or Roissybus shuttle direct from the airport to the Corner of Rue Scribe and Rue Auber 200 metres from the hotel. By public transports, take train RER B direct to "Chatelet Les Halles" station then train RER A to "Auber" station 250 metres from the hotel.

Access from Orly airport : Taxi or airport shuttle or Orlybus shuttle to "Denfert Rochereau" station then train RER B to "Chatelet Les Halles", then train RER A to "Auber" station at 200 metres from the hotel. Also possible to take Orlyval shuttle to "Antony" station then train RER B direct to "Chatelet Les Halles" station then train RER A to "Auber" station 250 metres from the hotel.

I use to go in luxury hotels of large chains. At the Athenee, the quality of the welcome is exceptional compared to what you can see in those hotel chains. The hotel is completely new such as the decoration and equipment (bedding, bathroom,...) I'll go back for a week-end with my wife for a romantic stay.
