The 17th district of Paris is located in the north-west part of Paris. It begins on the Avenue de la Grande Armee between the Arc de Triomphe and the Palais des Congres of Porte Maillot and stops on a line starting at Clichy place to end Porte de Saint Ouen where is based the famous flea market "Les Puces de Saint-Ouen".


The left side of the 17th arrondissement is a blend of business quarter, high standing residences and chic boutiques and restaurants while the other part is mainly working class.

Paris visitors mainly stay in the 17th arrondissement for business meetings, to attend fairs and exhibitions at the Palais des Congres of Porte Maillot or at the Espace Champerret, to be close to the quarter of the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysees for a lower hotel room rate than in the 8th district for equivalent quality.
